What did you forget to buy for the New Year's table: we check products according to the list

An anecdotal situation when a woman, looking at her naked spouse, recalls that she did not manage to buy all the products at the New Year's table, in fact, is not so far-fetched. In pre-holiday troubles, it is not surprising to lose sight of something. Avoiding this is easy, just make a list of products for the New Year in advance.

What does it give?

Having an accurate list of necessary purchases, you can protect yourself from many troubles on the eve of the upcoming 2019:

  • You don’t have to spend time at the shelves, remembering what else you need to take;
  • what will not be needed will not be bought, respectively, a little more money will remain (all the more so since by the end of December the prices for all products usually noticeably jump);
  • time and energy will remain for something more important than a repeated trip (and most often a race) to nearby stores, in which by this moment the most prudent buyers can “grab” more prudent buyers;
  • the New Year's mood will not spoil, because you don’t have to wind your nerves, jostling in lines and queuing - it’s no secret that in stores at this time a frenzy of excitement begins with the forces of the same forgetful hostesses;
  • there will be a guarantee that all dishes will be cooked on time, because you do not need to postpone cooking until the moment when all the ingredients for a dish are finally in your hands.

How to make a list of products for the New Year?

This is not so difficult to do. First you need to determine the number of guests and make a festive menu. Estimate the amount of servings and, accordingly, the consumption of ingredients for each dish, depending on the number of people celebrating.

Then they act according to this scheme:

  1. Collect all recipes for dishes that will be on the festive table.
  2. Each component is written out of them in a column (and it should be written in the form of a recipe and such, for example, “dishes”, such as meat or fruit slices, to accurately represent what exactly will be included in them).
  3. Duplicate foods are recorded as a total (for example, 5 eggs are needed for a salad and 4 for a cake, total 9).
  4. Cross out those products that are at home.
  5. Form a list of products, grouping them depending on how they are located on the shelves in a particular store (this will allow you not to rush about the entire supermarket, “cutting the kilometer”, but to move methodically between the shelves, filling the basket).

Add to this list items that you cannot name as products, but without which not a single New Year's feast can do. These are festive crackers, fireworks, candles, foil or sleeves for baking, napkins, medicines for heaviness, bloating, diarrhea, poisoning, heartburn, and a hangover.

What products to buy?

A single list of products for each family does not exist. After all, everyone has their own culinary preferences, their financial capabilities, food style (someone fasts, someone follows a diet, is fond of raw food diet or vegetarianism). Therefore, you need to choose from the list and buy only those products that are specific to a particular situation.
