• The primary solution to the problem is special pads. They can be purchased at a construction supermarket or carpet store. Available in the form of rolls and cut to the desired size. This is the most convenient device, but also the most expensive.
• To fix the carpet are widely used small rubberized substrate in the form of corners. They are attached to all four edges of the carpet and do not allow it to move. The option is ideal for small rugs in the children's room, as well as for the bathroom.

Varieties of carpet linings

Carpet linings vary in size and material from which they are made. You need to choose them depending on the size of the carpet, its thickness and type of flooring.

• For carpets of small sizes, a thin lining, which is a mesh, is preferable.
• For large rugs, a natural lining, such as felt or wool, is suitable.
• Combined substrates, combining felt and rubber, can fix carpets with a small thickness and short pile.
• For thick carpets, the same thick linings are suitable, but not more than 0.6 cm thick.

Lining material

Carpet tape

Floor tape, which is intended not only for laying flooring, but also for fixing carpets.

The following types of carpet tape are distinguished:

• bilateral;
• strong fixation tape;
• tissue;
• polypropylene.

It copes well with the task of keeping the carpet product in place, but it is short-lived. The more often the mats will be removed for cleaning, the weaker they will hold. It is required to periodically change pieces of the old tape to new ones.

Silicone sealant

Instead of using double adhesive tape or a non-slip lining, it is enough to apply one hundred percent silicone sealant to the back of the carpet and spread it with a spatula. Hardened sealant, which must be left to dry overnight, will prevent slipping.

Hot glue

By analogy with the previous paragraph, you can use thermoplastic glue. Use the glue gun to apply it to the underside of the carpet and wait until the glue dries. It is advisable to leave it all night until completely dry.

Glue strokes do not have to be even; they can fix the rug on the floor anyway.

Rubber gaskets

If there is not a single construction store nearby, use improvised means. The pieces of rubber pads glued to the mat, which are used for glass jars, can prevent it from moving. This method is effective for small rugs.

Liquid latex

The product, which is used for manicure and body painting, can also be applied to the underside of the carpet with a brush and wait for it to dry.

Foam backing

Instead of using special linings, buy a foam backing, which is sold in rolls. Having cut a piece of the right size, it must be placed under the carpet.

Velcro

The usual contact tape used in the creation of textiles will be able to fix the carpet product on any floor covering. However, you must make sure that one side of the Velcro is well attached to the floor. This product can be purchased at any textile store.

Masking tape

Several layers of masking tape glued to all four corners of the carpet product will help keep it in place. However, the tape will have to be updated periodically, as it loses its stickiness over time.
