Not every housewife knows how to iron a jacket. Many women, even if they manipulate at home, often do it wrong. Shortcomings in the approach affect the external data of the elegant thing and gradually cause it to wear out.

At home, for the manipulation, you can use a traditional iron, a steam generator for processing clothing, a compact steamer. With the use of vapor-forming devices, usually no questions arise, you just need to choose the optimal temperature regime. It is much more difficult to use the iron for its intended purpose, without spoiling the whimsical product.

The sequence of actions when smoothing a jacket

Before you iron the jacket, you need to make sure the surface is clean. Small ignored spots under the influence of high temperatures increase in size, penetrate deeper into the fibers and begin to emit an unpleasant odor. It is not necessary to completely wash the product, it is enough to carry out local cleaning and brush it through all the elements.

The mode on household appliances is set depending on the type of fabric. As a layer between matter and iron, various devices can be used. The processing order of a thing consisting of many elements is always the same:

Pockets We turn them on the wrong side and iron them carefully, eliminating even the smallest folds. To facilitate the process, use wet gauze. Then carefully return the elements to place.

Tip: After processing the fabric through a damp cloth, a little moisture remains on it. In order not to create favorable conditions for the development of mold, we additionally iron the fabric through a dry section of cotton.

Sleeves, shoulders. Ironed from the inside out. The most problematic in terms of processing the place. It is recommended that they either be steamed at high power, or pre-moistened and processed until completely dry. Without the use of a special narrow board, it will be difficult to achieve the desired result. In extreme cases, it can be replaced with a towel rolled up in a tight roll.
Shelves, overboard, back. These elements are processed only from the front side. They are quite even and do not cause problems.

Before starting ironing, you must carefully read the label. Even if the conditions of the procedure are not indicated on it, we draw attention to the composition of the material:

Cotton models. Resistant to high temperatures, so the maximum numbers are most often used. In addition to wet gauze, it is recommended to moisten the fabric additionally in order to achieve its maximum smoothing. The lining is processed in accordance with its composition.
Products from flax. The lining on them is usually absent, which allows processing from two sides. Steam supply is welcome. Flax is almost impossible to smooth to the ideal state, so slight bruising is allowed.
Jackets made of polyester and other synthetics. Rarely and insignificantly. Steaming will not facilitate the process, so it is not necessary to apply it. Processing is carried out with a warm iron.
Woolen jackets. Wet gauze or very thin cloth are required.The iron should not slide on the surface, just sequentially apply it to the fabric. The higher the percentage of wool, the lower the temperature should be, otherwise tan marks will appear on the product.

Silk items. Natural fabric cannot be ironed. Artificial is processed at the lowest temperatures. Spraying is unacceptable, spots remain after it. Only steam can be used from a distance.
Shaggy types of matter, products with embossed ornaments look the same as wool, with the pressure of an iron.
