  • Prepare a special steamer (available at any sewing supplies store).
  • Gently flush the lining material from the fur coat. Do not use a knife, blade, scissors, they can damage the product. If you are afraid, you can take the fur coat to the nearest atelier, where professionals will open the lining for a symbolic amount.
  • Pour warm water into the basin. Its temperature should not be higher than 40 degrees, otherwise the lining may sit down (decrease in size).
  • Dilute liquid detergent in water. You can use dry, but from it on some fabrics white stains may remain.
  • Soak the product for 15 minutes and then gently rub. Rinse several times in clean, warm water.
  • Dry the lining in a well-ventilated room. Do not use a hairdryer or hot batteries for this purpose. The product may sit down.
  • Carefully stroke the dry lining. It is good if the iron supports the function of steam.
  • Using a thin needle, sew the lining fabric in the same place (you can again use the services of the studio).

Tip

If you find damage on the lining of the fur coat, you must first repair them. In the case when the lining is hopelessly damaged, does not wash, you can completely replace it. Do not rush to throw out the old one, use it as a pattern.

  • Try to stretch the lining as far as possible so as not to wet the coat.

  • Sweat. Sweat can be removed from the silk lining with a mixture of denatured and ammonia (1: 1).First, the solution must be applied to the place of contamination, and then after 10 minutes, wash the lining with a warm soapy solution.
  • Stains from cosmetics. Mix a teaspoon of ammonia, the same amount of liquid detergent, 150 ml of warm water. Wipe the traces of cosmetics with the resulting solution, after 5 minutes, rinse the fabric with clean water.
  • Fat. With stains of fat, an ordinary liquid dishwashing liquid does an excellent job. Just dissolve a few drops in a glass of warm water, and then apply the solution with a damp sponge to the places of contamination.
  • Quick way. Most stains are easily removed with wet wipes, and they also effectively remove odors. Take a pack of thick, wet wipes and wipe the stains on the lining well.
  • The old fashioned way. You can remove pollution from a thin silk lining with the grandmother's method. To do this, mix potato starch and water (cold) so that you get a batter. Apply it to the places of contamination, and then when the pulp dries, wash the lining with warm soapy water.
